Southbridge Mall Disaster Relief Fund Raiser
2008 brought too many disasters to our little state of Iowa. First the Parkersburg tornado and then many, many areas severely damaged by floods. We felt compelled to do what we could. Since we couldn't just write out a large check we decided to raise money for our local disaster relief organizations by having a huge rummage sale. We asked the community to donate items and drop them off at Southbridge Mall. People listened. We were thrilled and overwhelmed by the response. 3 weeks later we were able to raise just over $4000 which is being divided equally between the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and the United Way.
